Scott Hogan has thanked everyone connected to Birmingham City for helping him to enjoy a dream start at the club after he scooped the February Player of the Month award.

Blues sealed a late swoop for the Ireland international in January and it's fair to say his arrival prompted a mixed response considering he had seriously struggled with Stoke City and was joining from bitter rivals Aston Villa.

However, Hogan has been magnificent for Blues, scoring seven goals in eight games, with six of those strikes coming in February. Therefore, it was no surprise to see he was named as the best player in the league for February earlier today.

And, Hogan took to Twitter to send a message to all those who have endured his transition across the Second City has gone superbly.

"Thank you to everyone for welcoming me so well. Thanks to players and staff for believing in me."

The 27-year-old had managed just two goals for Stoke City in 13 games during the first part of the campaign.

QUIZ: Can you name these 13 Birmingham City January signings?

The verdict

This is thoroughly deserved for Hogan as he has been brilliant for Blues and he has settled in easily.

His partnership with Lukas Jutkiewicz has worked instantly and the duo played a big role in what was a very impressive unbeaten run for Pep Clotet's side that only ended last week.

Of course, the disruption to the football calendar means that Hogan will have to wait a while to get back out on the pitch but he will hope to maintain his form when he does return and Birmingham will hope they can secure a long-term deal for the player when the window opens.
