According to The Derby Telegraph, Derby County man Ikechi Anya has admitted that he does not mind playing at right back.

Anya, who is naturally a winger, has been utilised at right back by Scotland in the absence of the injured Callum Paterson and he has admitted that he is happy to play there if Gordon Strachan continues to ask him to do so.

The 29-year-old won the man of the match award in Scotland's 1-1 draw with Canada and looks set to continue in the right back role for the upcoming qualifier against Slovenia on Sunday.

This news could come as music to Gary Rowett's ears as one of the first problems he will look to resolve is the right back issue.

Cyrus Christie is usually the first choice for this role but his season has been plagued with injuries and occasional dips in form, whilst Chris Baird has been competent but unspectacular when filling in.

Rowett might turn to Anya, who appears happy to play at right back if he is asked to do so.
