An exciting season could await Derby County this year with the Rams appointing Frank Lampard as the successor to Gary Rowett this summer.

Hope had drained from the club earlier on in the off-season after a play-off failure and Rowett leaving but things seem to have perked up once more.

Of course, it's a gamble appointing a manager with no experience of note but Lampard was one of the great midfielders of his generation, he'll surely have some knowhow to say the least.

And, with that said, it should give the players at the club a new lease of life as they look to impress him.

With that in mind, then, we asked fans of the Rams on Twitter whether Nick Blackman deserves another chance at their club this season coming and this was the response:

After signing from Reading, the move to Pride Park was meant to be a big step forwards for Blackman.

Simply, though, things have not worked out and though Lampard should give his new squad a clean slate, most of the Derby fans who voted think that he should perhaps not afford Blackman such a luxury.

Let's see if that is what the ex-Chelsea man decides to do.
