Huddersfield Town centre-back Christopher Schindler has stated that Saturday's defeat may be a positive in the long-term future for the Terriers.

Carlos Corberan's side were undone late on as substitute Adam Idah won the match for Norwich City, as the Terriers started the new season much like the last, with a defeat.

It will have been a tough pill to swallow for many of the players, especially after what has been a summer of upheaval at the club with a number of players leaving and joining with a new manager looking to get his methods across to the players.

Schindler has expressed that in the long-term this will help the team solve situations like this and grow relationships in the future.

Speaking to Huddersfield's official website, Schindler said: "When the relationships grow between players, we can solve the situations better and make life easier.

"It’s about adapting your body to this new speed and intensity. It’s a low (the defeat), it’s going to hurt, we’re going to suffer but I think it’s for the best."

The Verdict

Schindler is right, and it will hurt now but Huddersfield cannot for one second dwell on it and they must be right at it again next week and make sure they get some points on the board as soon as possible.

The Terries have had a lot of change over the summer months, and they now have to make sure that they have belief in what the manager is doing and buy into his philosophy.

It'll be interesting to see if it works, but if all of the players give their all for him then there is no reason why they can't start building and turning into a good Championship side.
