French Ligue 1 side SC Bastia are poised to announce the signing of Norwich City loanee Johan Elmander, formerly of Galatasaray, according to norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk, a Norwich fansite.
The former Swedish international striker proved to be a flop with the Canaries having only managed to score one goal in 29 league appearances for the Norfolk outfit.
It is believed that Norwich have told Galatasaray they do not want to take up their option of a permanent signature of the 33-year old and he has been told he is free to leave by his parent club.
It seems that French outfit SC Bastia, currently managed by Real Madrid, Chelsea and PSG legend Claude Makelele is ready to offer Elmander a contract with his side.
Elmander is a player of Ligue 1 experience having played there with Toulouse from 2006 through till 2008 where he played 38 games and scored 22 goals.
It is thought that Makelele hopes he can rekindle his form up front along with former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.
