Footage has emerged of Sheffield Wednesday defender Liam Palmer tying up a mascot's shoelaces in the tunnel prior to Scotland's game on the weekend, which has impressed many fans of the club.

Palmer started for Scotland in their 2-1 win against Cyprus on Saturday, with goals from Ryan Christie and John McGinn ensuring Steve Clarke's side took the three points and moved above their opponents in Group I.

Belgium and Russia have already taken the two automatic qualification places for Euro 2020 but Clarke's side have a chance of qualifying through the play-offs after winning their Nations League group.

After making his debut in March this year, Palmer made his fourth appearance for Scotland in the 2-1 win against Cyprus.

The right-back has been a key player for Wednesday this season–making 14 appearances and helping the Owls climb to eighth in the Championship.

A clip has emerged of the 28-year-old in the tunnel ahead of the game, tying up one of the mascot's shoelaces.

The club's official account tweeted out the video, which understandably was very well received by large parts of the Hillsborough faithful.
