New Brighton & Hove Albion boss Sami Hyypia was very happy with his side’s attitude in their friendly win over Lewes on Saturday.
Hyypia’s first game in charge produced a comfortable 5-0 victory, with goals from Inigo Calderon, Kazenga LuaLua, Craig Mackail-Smith and Shamir Fenelon.
He used the game as an opportunity to mix some of the under-21 players with the senior players and the Finn was more than pleased with the Seagulls’ efforts.
Hyypia told the official website: “For a first game of pre-season, it was very good and we scored a few goals.
“We wanted to put into practise things we were working on in training, I saw that; I was very pleased with the attitude of the squad.
“It’s not always easy to concentrate and have the right attitude for these games, but we kept the tempo all through the match and that was one of our targets.”
