Nottingham Forest midfielder Samba Sow has posted a video on Twitter as he looks to return to full fitness after a short international break.

The 30-year-old, who signed for Forest from Dynamo Moscow in the summer, has been an important player for Sabri Lamouchi's side in the early stages of the season, making nine appearances in all competitions.

The combative midfielder has really nailed down a starting place in the team of late, playing alongside Ben Watson in defensive midfield and helping Forest climb to second place in the league table.

Sow was replaced by winger Albert Adomah in their latest game - a 1-0 home win over Brentford - after suffering a hamstring problem in the latter stages of the contest.

And ahead of the Reds' trip to Wigan Athletic next weekend, the midfielder has posted a video on Twitter to show his recovery program, as he looks to get back to full fitness without any issues.

Forest are yet to lose in the Championship since their opening day defeat to West Bromwich Albion - Lamouchi's men will be looking to pick up their seventh league win of the season at the DW Stadium next week.

The Verdict

Sow has been a really important player for Forest this season - it didn't look like he'd be as important as he has been when he first signed, but he's worked really hard to get into the team ahead of the likes of Alfa Semedo and John Bostock.

He is a very useful player to have in midfield - he is tall, strong, and adds drive to the middle of the park, but he is also very technical which most people wouldn't really expect from him.

It will be massive to have him back against Wigan.
