Samba Sow has been one of the standout players for Nottingham Forest so far this season and has played a key role in the Reds' promising start to the campaign under Sabri Lamouchi.

The 30-year-old arrived at the City Ground from Russian Premier League side Dynamo Moscow and has made ten appearances for the Reds in all competitions so far this season.

The defensive midfielder has impressed with his displays so far and his committed performances have seen him quickly become a fans' favourite at the City Ground.

The Mali international provides Forest with some extra strength and physicality in midfield, and he has already picked up four yellow cards in his nine Championship appearances for the Reds.

Judging by his latest Instagram post, Sow clearly feels that he gets booked a lot, as he captioned the images of him talking to the refs with; 'Why always me ?'.

Forest return to action to the Championship this weekend and will be looking to continue their promising start to the season with three points against Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon.

The Verdict

Sow is a talented footballer and he looks perfectly suited to the Championship. I think he could turn out to be a fantastic signing for Nottingham Forest this season.

He certainly isn't afraid to get stuck in and you need those kinds of players in your team if you want to achieve success at this level. He's definitely going to have a key role to play in the Reds' promotion push this season.

Due to his playing style, it perhaps isn't surprising that he's picked already four yellow cards in his nine league appearances this season, but that's just part and parcel of being a defensive midfielder in such competitive league.
