After missing out on the play-offs last season, Nottingham Forest have made a very promising start to their Sky Bet Championship campaign under Sabri Lamouchi.

Lamouchi replaced Martin O'Neill in charge at the City Ground over the summer and has made quite an impact. The Reds moved up to fourth in the Championship table with a convincing 4-0 win at QPR last night and extended their unbeaten run to four games.

There's still a long way to go, but the Reds' start to the campaign has given Forest fans plenty of reasons to feel optimistic about their chances of promotion this season and a number of players have all impressed massively.

Lewis Grabban has scored eight goals, while goalkeeper Brice Samba has kept six clean sheets in the league. Matty Cash has excelled in his new role at right-back, while Joe Worrall has been magnificent at centre-back.

Plenty of Forest fans have taken to social media to debate which player has been the best this season, with one supporter suggesting that midfielder Ben Watson has been the Reds' standout performer so far.

He posted on Facebook: "Player of the season thus far? Ben Watson I reckon."

Plenty of Reds fans were quick to respond to the question by commenting on the post. Here is a look at some of the best responses...

Simon Haslam: Samba.

James York: Samba.

Steven Daykin: Cash.

David Naylor: Watson. Unsung hero, slowly becoming Captain Fantastic.

Simon Plackett: Joe Worrall.

Phil Bullard: Between Worrall and Watson.

Jason Young: Cash, Worrall and Watson all been superb this season. Also Grabban because he doesn’t really get many chances because of how we play, his goals to shots conversion must be excellent.

David Spall: The fact that we can choose 4/5 players says it all. I’ll go for Cash, not because he’s our best player but because he’s simply been outstanding in a position not many of us thought he could play. Most important player goes to Samba purely for the fact he’s improved the 4 players in front of him.

James Nixon: Brice Samba for the confidence he’s inspired... how many hours played without conceding?

Lee Priestley: Samba or Cash.

Billy Billson: Cash for me.

Allen Tuzzio: Very hard to choose just one. I agree with Cash, Samba, Watson, Worrall but you have to give a mention to Sow, Semedo and Dawson who have all been brilliant before injury too.

Makenzie Brown: Samba hands down.

Paul McGee: So many to choose from.

Paolo Molinari: Tough choice... Not included is definitely Lolley though, much to my surprise...
