Swansea City striker Sam Surridge has sent a message following his side's impressive 3-1 weekend win against Middlesbrough as speculation continues to mount regarding his future.

Surridge has been a key part of Steve Cooper's Swans' set-up so far this season and scored his fourth of the season on Saturday but it remains a distinct possibility that he will be recalled from his loan by parent club Bournemouth during the January window.

Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, and writing alongside a photograph of him celebrating at The Liberty, he wrote simply: "3+ points and a goal😁."

Andre Ayew scored the other two goals on the day to earn the club their first win in six Championship games and move them to within just a point of play-off places.

However, it remains a distinct possibility that Surridge is nearing the end of his time with the club.

In recent weeks, Eddie Howe has admitted that a recall for the 21-year-old marksman is very much a possibility with the Cherries suffering from a severe shortage in their own striking department.

In 18 appearances so far this season, he has found the net four times, adding another three in the League Cup, and breaking into the starting line-up ahead of Borja Baston in the last four games.

The verdict

It is hard to reach much into this message following the Boro game, but fans can at least be assured that even if he is set to leave in January, he is still fully focused.

Obviously they would love to keep him but I think he is also replaceable.

Keeping hold of Andre Ayew should be the biggest priority for the Swans in January with another loan to replace Surridge likely to be relatively easy to come by.
