Nottingham Forest travel to Bournemouth this evening for their biggest game of the season so far.

With both teams wanting automatic promotion, tonight’s game would seal it for Bournemouth if they come out as winners but a draw or Forest win would take it to the final day.

Striker Sam Surridge is one of the players returning to his former club with Forest tonight after he joined the Reds in January.

Surridge is in excellent form after he scored a hat-trick in his side’s 5-1 win against Swansea City last weekend taking his tally for goals this season to 18.

Although there is a lot riding on tonight’s game and it will no doubt be a big occasion for the player, the 23-year-old is looking forward to it as he told Nottinghamshire Live: “I relish the big occasions.

“For all the the Covid stuff that has happened in the past couple of years, for me to be at a club like this now, playing in front of a full crowd, it’s absolutely massive for myself. I’m thriving on it at the moment, so I’ve just got to keep pushing and doing what I have been doing.

”For Forest, there’s going to be big games coming up. Tuesday is just another one.

”Saturday was one of the biggest games of the season. Tuesday will be another big game.

“We’ve just got to keep doing what we have been doing, keep believing and doing what the manager wants us to do. We’ve got to put in a good performance there and see where it takes us.

”We all believe in what we want to do. If we keep doing what we practice every day, there’s no need to worry about certain situations. I just focus on the next game, recover right and put myself in the best shape to perform.”

The Verdict:

There is no doubting that this evening’s game is massive and for those players returning to Bournemouth for the first time, it’s sure to be an even bigger occasion.

However, Surridge is in great form and his confidence going into this game should be really high as he looks to add to his goal tally for this season.

Furthermore, the young player has expressed his excitement for the big occasion and during a game like that the adrenaline can really help to boost players.

There’s no doubt this will be a tight affair but both teams will be hoping they have the players strong enough to get a win.
