The Bristol Post reports that star striker Sam Baldock has refuted rumours that he is set to leave Ashton Gate by saying he’s happy at City.
Despite City’s board of directors rejecting the bid, Brighton’s manager Sami Hyypia is said to be in the market for a striker, however the 25-year-old is refuses to allow the uncertainty to unsettle him.
Speaking whilst on the clubs’ pre-season tour of Botswana, Baldock said “To be honest, I don’t let it concern me at all. The manager and I have quite a good relationship and we talk about it and he updates me on what is going on. He has told me he wants me to stay and I am more than happy to stay.”
City has signed six new players in the close season, with more expected to follow and Baldock believes this is a squad who can challenge for promotion in SkyBet League One.
He added: “I think we have a fantastic squad here and I think we can really go places this year. I think they have done a really good job of identifying the better players in the league from last season and have managed to snap them up early on, which is good.”
