Sam Allardyce has hinted that Kenneth Zohore could return to West Brom following the conclusion of his loan spell with Millwall.

Zohore moved to the Den on loan from the Hawthorns in October, but his loan deal expires after the Lions' clash at Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

Gary Rowett admitted recently that he didn't want to lose the striker despite his injury struggles since making the temporary switch from the Baggies.

Zohore has scored two goals in six appearances for Millwall, although he's been restricted to just three starts in all competitions following a two-month lay-off with a muscle injury he sustained at Preston back in October on his full debut.

Did Millwall sign each of these 14 players for more or less than £500k?

Rowett has continuously responded to questions about Zohore's fitness, and turning out at the City Ground this afternoon would be his fourth appearance on the bounce for Millwall.

"With my shortage of front-men at the moment, we're going to have to speak to Luke and the back-room staff who were here before on the quality of the player, and whether we make that decision to call him back at this moment in time," Allardyce told Birmingham Live. "It's until we have an opportunity to bring someone in on the front-line ourselves, which may mean we give him an opportunity if he comes back in and we throw him on, and we see what he can do. "If that isn't the case, and we sign who we want to sign, then we have the option to re-loan him again before the window shuts - whether that's back to Millwall or not, I don't know."

The Verdict

This comments certainly don't sound ideal from a Millwall perspective.

Essentially, if West Brom aren't able to add to their strike department before the end of the month, following the recent departure of Charlie Austin to QPR, they're going to recall Zohore.

Whilst Rowett has no fewer than four other strikers at his disposal, despite his lack of outings in a Lions shirt, Zohore has impressed and has provided a difference kind of service to the likes of Tom Bradshaw, Troy Parrott, Matt Smith and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, so it's no wonder Rowett is desperate to extend his loan.
