Nottingham Forest have announced that midfielder, Ben Osborn has left the club to join Premier League side, Sheffield United.

It puts an end to a 16-year-spell with the Reds, and he'll be hoping to force his way into Chris Wilder's starting XI in the top-flight at the earliest of opportunities.

Osborn made 230 appearances in total for Nottingham Forest and it'll be interesting to see whether he can adjust to the demands of playing his football in the top-flight next season.

The fee hasn't been disclosed, but it has previously been reported by journalist, Paul Taylor, that Sheffield United were readying a bid in the region of £3m to land Osborn's signature.

The City Ground faithful will be hoping that the funds obtained from the sale of the midfielder can mean that Sabri Lamouchi can reinvest the money into strengthening his squad ahead of the new Championship season.

Plenty of Nottingham Forest fans took to social media to react to Osborn's departure.
