‘Sad to hear’, ‘Very happy with that’ – These Portsmouth fans react as club close in on new manager

Danny Cowley is expected to be the new Portsmouth manager, after he closes in on an initial deal to stay at Fratton Park until the end of the season.
Hearing Daniel Stendel out of #Pompey running. It's going to be Danny Cowley as the next manager.

The League One outfit made the decision to sack Kenny Jackett following the EFL Trophy defeat to Salford last weekend, and a host of names had been linked with the vacancy.
Daniel Stendel emerged as a leading contender at first, but reporter Neil Allen has confirmed that Cowley is the man who will be taking over.
Did these 17 Portsmouth players ever actually score a league goal for the club?
Unlike the German, signing a short-term contract hasn’t been a deal-breaker for the ex-Lincoln chief, and he is expected to be in the dugout for the game against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
It’s fair to say the news went down well on the whole with Pompey fans, who recognise this is a good appointment for the club, even if some were keen on Stendel.
Here we look at some of the reaction from Twitter…
I said from the start he was a bit too maverick for the Eisners.
That was my reasoning for Harris..a safe, steady but ultimately boring set of hands.
Cowleys will do well if allowed to completely reshape the club from academy to recruitment.
But they must be given time.— Imposter 66 (@Imposter66) March 17, 2021
I think it will be a great appointment, was a big advocate of his before Jackett on POL. He has to be given his time and head to shape the club though, for long term success. I think that this will work out very well, worth looking at the coaching Youtube videos he's done.

Personally very happy with that, a progressive appointment.

What a shame. Do you know why? Is the 12 match contract the issue?

Better than alot of the other names

Massively underrated with most neutral fans berating his style – he will play the team to its potential and galvanize what squad they have
