There are currently no Yorkshire teams competing in the English Premier League, as Lancashire and the South continue to dominate the top-flight.

However, in the Football League, the Yorkshire teams are beginning to rise and put themselves back on the footballing map.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday are all battling for a place in the end of season Play-Offs, in hope of making it to the Premier League.

Whilst in League One, Bradford City look set to compete in the Play-Offs and Sheffield United have secured promotion to the Championship by winning the title.

The latter’s promotion has set up a potential derby between United and Wednesday in the Championship next season, should Carlos Carvalhal’s Owls fail in their quest for the Premier League.

Chris Wilder’s side’s success has led to his counterpart from across Sheffield, congratulating the Blades.
