Brentford surrendered a two goal lead in the dying stages of extra time last night, as the Bees drew 2-2 away to fierce local rivals, QPR.

Victory would have put Dean Smith’s men just six points away from a playoff spot, but goals in the third and fourth minutes of time added on restricted the Griffin Park side to just a point on the road.

A double from Danish stroker Lasse Vibe, his first goals of the campaign, looked enough to have provided the Bees with their second win at Loftus Road of the season following a 4-1 Carabao Cup win earlier in the season, but Brentford could not hold on.

The result means the Bees have now surrendered eighteen points from winning positions, an unenviable record which, did they not possess, would leave them just two points behind league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers in an automatic promotion berth.

Bees fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration with the result…
