Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has made it clear that Joe Worrall will not leave the club this month.
The centre-back has been outstanding for the Reds this season, with his strong defensive displays a key reason behind the Reds fine form that has put them in the mix for promotion.
Such form has prompted talk that Premier League clubs could come calling and the Mirror (8th January, page 50) have claimed that West Ham and Norwich are the latest top-flight sides to show an interest.
However, speaking to the BBC, Lamouchi sent an emphatic message insisting that the academy graduate will remain at the City Ground.
“No way. With me, it is impossible. We are here to try to achieve a dream all together. Don’t talk to me about money, don’t talk to me about challenge – Joe Worrall is from Forest.
“We started a job together and I will never give permission to do that (sell the player).”
Worrall has been an ever-present for the Reds this season in the league and is sure to be in the XI as Forest take on Reading this weekend.
Where did these 15 Nottingham Forest players sign from?
This is exactly what Forest fans will want to hear and they shouldn’t even be considering selling Worrall this month.
After years of underachieving, Forest are finally in a position where promotion to the Premier League looks possible, so January is about adding to the group.
And, you can’t imagine the player will want to leave this month as taking his local club back to the top-flight will be the dream.
