Nottingham Forest boss, Sabri Lamouchi, has stated that after the Reds conceded a second goal his side 'gave up a little bit' as they went onto lose 5-0 to Premier League side, Arsenal.

It was a poor display for a much changed Forest side, and the manager was clearly a little unhappy with how they went about their business after his side conceded the second goal of the game.

The result means that the Reds exit the Carabao Cup but it's not the end of the world for Lamouchi's side who have been an impressive outfit so far in the Championship.

He claimed that he's disappointed for the fans and players, but will now focus on the league.

Speaking to NottinghamshireLive, Lamouchi said: "After the second goal we gave up a little bit but five is too much. In the first half we didn't play like we know we can.

“With the ball we showed a lot of respect to the opponent. We are out of this competition, but against a big club with top players.

“I'm disappointed for the players. I'm disappointed for the fans because they came a long way. We'll focus on the league now.

"I thought to put Lewis Grabban on after the second goal but decided it was not necessary to try to come back in the game.

“I prefer to save him. We don't have a lot of choice (up front)."

The Verdict

With Lamouchi's initial comments after the game, I don't think that many of the changes to the lineup will have done much to cement a place in his plans for the next Championship fixtures.

Forest were obviously defeated by one of the best sides in England, but it's always disappointing to lose by such a high margin, whoever you're facing.

I'm sure Lamouchi will have his side fired up for Friday night's game at Stoke, which is a very winnable match for Forest and could take them top of the league.
