Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has urged supporters to play their part in the redevelopment of the City Ground.

The Reds are set to enter an exciting new period, where they will be redeveloping the City Ground as they prepare to fight for a place in the Premier League.

The club have recently announced that, after extensive negotiations, an agreement with the City Council for an extended lease on The City Ground has been completed.

The redevelopments will see the stadium capacity increase to 38,000, with the Peter Taylor Stand set to be rebuilt as well as the West Bridgford Stand, the Brian Clough Stand and Trentside area.

The club are now asking supporters to have their say on the proposed plans, with Chris Cohen and Joe Worrall recently speaking about the importance of the new plans.

Forest chief Sabri Lamouchi has now urged fans to play their part in the major plans. Via Nottinghamshire Live, he said: "We need to refresh, we need to make (it) more modern, more warm, more comfortable for our fans because they deserve that, and the club deserves to build the new stadium, with the same atmosphere, the same spirit, the same fans, the same noise, the same positive energy.

"It's really important for the club, the feedback from our fans, because the most important people in our club are the fans.

"They need to help us to build the right home for them, because it's a nice and fantastic place to be every single weekend."

Forest return to league action this weekend with a trip to Ashton Gate, to face promotion rivals Bristol City.

The Reds sit fifth in the Sky Bet Championship table, three points off the automatic promotion places with a game in hand.

The Verdict

Exciting times certainly lie ahead for Nottingham Forest on and off the pitch.

With a new stadium being built, it very much has a Tottenham Hotspur feel about it - rebuilding and redeveloping their stadium as they look to push up the leagues and be the best they can be.

It is such an important step for the club, and fans should be crying out for the change.
