Ryan Lowe provides an update on Preston North End’s summer transfer window

Ryan Lowe has looked forward to next season with a positive mindset for Preston North End.

However, with four signings under his belt so far, the boss has made no secret of the fact that he’s looking to add further to his side.

With the season now a week away, Lowe will be keen to get faces in as soon as possible although he is not panicking as he feels there’s a lot to be said for patience this transfer window as he told the Lancashire Post: “I’ve spoken to several managers and everyone is in the same boat, it’s been quite quiet hasn’t it? There’s not loads of money being spent around.

“We’re one of 23 other clubs who are looking at the same type of players, we’re no different. Everyone wants quality players.

“We’ve got to be patient that we’re selling a good brand of football, coming to work for a good football club and with the identity we have. That’s what we sell.”

It seems as though that patience may be paying off now as the boss was able to provide fans with a positive update on the Lilywhites business confirming: “We’ve got two loans lined up, one sort of agreed in principle, although you never say never, and the other one we’re waiting on a decision. Hopefully they’re not far away.

“We need four, we’ve got four lined up. We’re in discussions with four and the quicker we can get them done the better.

“Will that be one every day? Hopefully! But will that be for on the same day? Who knows. We’ve just got to be patient.”

The Verdict:

This is a really positive update on Preston’s work this summer and one that will no doubt bring fans joy with the season quickly approaching.

Lowe has been adamant that he’s four signings away from being happy with his side and it sounds as though at least three of those are likely to come in with one still being decided.

If the Lilywhites can get these signings done in the next week, that would hopefully put them in a good position to kick off the season in strong form as they face Wigan on the first day of the campaign.
