It's deadline day for Bury today, as they look to avoid being expelled from the Football League.

Their promotion into League One seems a distant memory, with former boss, Ryan Lowe taking the club up from League Two last season.

Lowe took to Twitter to issue his support for his former side, and is clearly hoping for a positive resolution to the off-the-field troubles that the club are having at this moment in time.

The EFL have requested proof that the League One club will be able to fulfil their 2019/20 league campaign, which they are still yet to receive.

So, there is a deadline in place for Bury owner, Steve Dale to provide the neccessary evidence to the EFL, but he doesn't have long to do so.

There is a deadline in place for the end of Friday to get this sorted, and supporters will be hoping that a positive outcome can come of this, otherwise they're facing expulsion from the Football League.

Dale revealed on Thursday that there are four interested parties in purchasing the club, although it remains to be seen as to how serious some of their interest is.

Bury are still yet to get their season underway, and have had their game against Tranmere Rovers postponed this weekend.

The Verdict:

How times have changed.

Things were looking positive for Bury when Lowe was in charge, and it's a real shame that the club have fallen to where they have this season.

It came as no surprise to see Lowe leave the club, and he and many of football supporters across England will be hoping that the club can fight off expulsion from the Football League today.
