Ryan Hedges has taken to Twitter to share a message with Blackburn Rovers' supporters following his side's clash with Watford in the Championship.

Hedges helped Rovers seal all three points in this particular fixture last night by scoring his first goal for the club at Ewood Park.

Blackburn dominated the early stages of the game as Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann was tested by Ben Brereton Diaz, Tyrhys Dolan and Hedges.

Jon Dahl Tomasson's side opened the scoring in the 38th minute as Hedges slotted home from Dolan's cross.

Following the break, Watford had a goal disallowed for offside before Dom Hyam doubled Blackburn's advantage.

The defender produced a sublime finish to beat Bachmann and effectively secure victory for his side.

As a result of this triumph, Blackburn moved up to third in the Championship standings.

Rovers will be determined to build upon their latest victory by securing a positive result in their showdown with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this weekend.

Reflecting on his latest appearance for Blackburn on Twitter, Hedges has admitted that it was an unbelievable feeling to finally get off the mark for the club.

The 27-year-old posted: "Unreal feeling to finally get off the mark for this great club.

"A big 3 points at home and what a shift from the lads @Rovers."

The Verdict

Having opened his goal-scoring account for Blackburn last night, it will be interesting to see whether Hedges will be able to build upon this display over the course of the coming months.

As well as finding the back of the net against Watford, the winger provided two key passes for his team-mates and completed four successful dribbles as he recorded a WhoScored match rating of 8.12.

When you consider that Hedges has been directly involved in four goals in the Championship this season, he will unquestionably fancy his chances of causing havoc for Luton's defenders on Saturday.

By maintaining his fitness as well as his consistency, Hedges could potentially help his side achieve a great deal of success in the second-tier during the current term.
