Leeds United will be hoping they can find some consistency in their performances as they look to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this season.

A number of the squad have been away on international duty this week, with Ryan Edmondson featuring for the England under 19's side recently.

The Leeds youngster was substituted just after the hour mark in their 3-1 defeat to France's under 19's side, and was an unused substitute in their win over Belgium on Saturday.

Edmondson issued a social update on his

Edmondson is yet to feature for the Leeds first team, and will surely be tempted to push for a loan move when the transfer window opens in January.

He made one substitute appearance for the Whites last term, but is certainly going to find opportunities hard to come by under Marcelo Bielsa this season.

Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah are battling it out for the starting spot up-front for Leeds, as they look to fire themselves back into the Premier League after a lengthy spell out of the top-flight.

The Whites are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Birmingham City in what is certain to be a potentially tricky test for Bielsa's side as they look to bounce back from a defeat to Millwall before the international break.

The Verdict:

Surely Leeds will consider loaning him out in the January transfer window?

Edmondson has looked sharp in front of goal for the Leeds under 23's side in recent seasons, and deserves to be given a shot in senior football in the near future to help aid his development.

It's highly unlikely that he'll be getting in the Leeds starting XI anytime soon, with Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah likely to be ahead of Edmondson in the pecking order at Elland Road.
