Ryan East has taken to Twitter to share a message with Bradford City's supporters after sealing a move to the club.

As confirmed by the Bantams' official website, East has signed an initial two-year deal at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

The midfielder has joined Bradford on a free transfer following Swindon Town's decision to opt against offering him a new deal earlier this month.

East featured for the Robins in League Two last season after making a move to the club during the previous summer transfer window.

In the 2021/22 campaign, the 23-year-old made 16 league appearances for Swindon whilst he also featured for the club in the League Cup, the FA Cup and the EFL Trophy.

East was not included in Swindon's squad for their recent clashes with Port Vale in the semi-finals of the play-offs.

The Robins went on to suffer a defeat to Vale on penalties in the absence of the midfielder.

After the club announced his arrival, East admitted on Twitter that he cannot wait for the season to start as he is looking forward to playing in front of the club's supporters.

The former Reading man posted: "Absolutely buzzing to have signed for @officialbantams!

"Can't wait for the season to start and to play in front of all you fans!"

The Verdict

Bradford are seemingly determined to get their business done early this summer as they have now signed five players.

After securing the services of Harry Lewis, Jamie Walker, Harry Lewis and Matt Platt, City have now opted to bolster their options in midfield by swooping for East.

Mark Hughes will be hoping that East will be able to help the Bantams launch a push for promotion next season.

During the league games that he participated in the previous term, East managed to illustrate that he can be composed whilst in possession of the ball as he completed 86.4% of his passes at this level (as per WhoScored).

By making strides in terms of his development under the guidance of Hughes, the midfielder could potentially become a key player for Bradford later this year.
