According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are plotting a move to sign former Middlesbrough forward Martin Braithwaite.

The Denmark international left the Riverside Stadium last summer in favour of a permanent switch to Spanish side Leganes who he's played for this term.

Braithwaite has been a star player for the La Liga strugglers, however they are reportedly close to a transfer blow as Barcelona prepare to bring him in on an emergency deal.

A long-term injury to Ousmane Dembele means that Barcelona are allowed to bring in a free agent or someone from the Spanish top flight within the next two months.

Braithwaite has a reported £17million release clause, meaning that the Spanish giants would have to pay out of they're to secure a deal for the 28-year-old.

As you'd imagine, the potential deal has certainly got Middlesbrough fans talking with many in disbelief that the former star could be plying his trade at the Nou Camp.
