Birmingham City may well be the surprise package of this season's Championship campaign if their current form continues.

Despite a tough 3-0 home defeat to Barnsley this weekend, the Blues still continue to sit in the top six in the Championship, much to the surprise of some of the teams around them.

But in a division that has prompted the likes of Huddersfield and Leeds United to make surges towards the top of the table, anything could be possible come May and if the Bluenoses can keep pace, they cannot be ruled out.

Perhaps more so than in recent seasons, it's clear to see the strength that Rowett has in his ranks, especially with his options coming from the bench.

But whilst there is strength in some departments, for fans at the club, there are a couple of players that haven't been much use going forward.

So with that in mind, here's 2 Birmingham players Rowett really needs to get more out of going forward...

Clayton Donaldson

Clayton Donaldson is normally the man who is relied upon to get the goals at St Andrew's but this season he's struggled to consistently hit the back of the net.

He did face a spell on the sidelines earlier on in the campaign but barring his penalty in the 2-1 away win against Brentford a couple of weeks back, he hadn't scored since mid-September.

You can never question his work rate or heart in the slightest but as a striker, he really needs to be getting more goals if Birmingham are going to reach the play-offs come the end of the campaign.

Diego Fabbrini

A hefty summer signing, many Blues fans though Diego Fabbrini would be integral in this Blues side after his successful loan spell last season.

But it really hasn't happened for the Italian and he's really struggled for game time in recent months.

Whether it's a training ground issue or just based on Rowett's favourites, he needs to be getting more out of him.

At this level, he's a man with so much skill that can really unlock defences and he should be pushing harder for the first team.
