Stoke City manager Gary Rowett is eyeing a reunion with his former goalkeeper Thomas Kuszczak, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The new Potters gaffer wants to sign the 36-year-old former Manchester United stopper following their time together at Birmingham City, and Rowett was a big fan of the keeper while he was in charge of Derby County last season.

Rowett will be hoping to convince the experienced Kuszczak to make the move to Staffordshire, seeing the stopper as the ideal signing to come in and steady the ship if Jack Butland leaves this summer, something widely expected to happen during the summer.

The big Polish stopper has bags of experience in the English game and boasts successul spells with Brighton, Wolves, and West Brom to his name, while he was also regular understudy during his time at Old Trafford with Manchester United previously.

Despite his class and experienced, Kuszczak only has 11 caps for his country. However, this will not deter Stoke and Rowett, who are hoping to convince the stopper to make the move to the Championship newboys in the coming weeks.

Stoke City fans, what do you make of this? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
