Stoke City will be looking for their first away win of the season when they travel to take on newly-promoted Rotherham at the New York Stadium tomorrow evening.

Gary Rowett's men have endured an awful start to life back in the Championship, with the pre-season promotion favourites 18th in the table.

And, they face a potentially difficult encounter against a Millers side that have been very competitive on their own patch this season.

Here at FLW we provide you with a statpack ahead of the game, highlighting a lot of key information ahead of the fixture...

Firstly, as you can see, Rotherham are a side that are happy to play without the ball, with Paul Warne's men averaging just 40% possession this season.

With real pressure and expectancy on Stoke, the hosts will let the Potters have more of the ball and look to counter, even at home.

Despite the low possession stat, Rotherham are effective at getting off shots, with their direct style suiting the players that they have.

For Rowett's side, they have failed to create an identity or way of playing this season and that's reflected in their results.

The one positive they can take ahead of tomorrow's game though is that the hosts direct style might play into the hands of their defence, who have been awful at times this season.

Ryan Shawcross will need to improve and he has an important role to play in organising the Potters defence and ensuring they are dominant against high balls and set-pieces, which is a chief outlet for the Yorkshire side who struggle for goals.

That lack of cutting edge for the hosts is evident by the lack of goals, with no player scoring more than one.

With that in mind, Stoke know they need to take advantage tomorrow to secure a big three points that they will hope can be a catalyst for an improved run of form.
