Rotherham United could be set to move for Huddersfield midfielder Dean Whitehead, according to the Huddersfield Examiner.
The experienced campaigner who has spent most of this career playing in the Premier League could be surplus to requirements under David Wagner, with the former Dortmund manager making a number of summer signings already.
Rotherham are struggling to put a squad together at the moment following a clearout of players and a lack of transfer activity thus far in terms of incomings to the New York Stadium.
New manager Alan Stubbs has a huge task on his hands as we head further into the transfer window, so the signing of Whitehead might at least provide a bit of slight relief for Millers fans.
Whitehead made over 30 appearances for the Terriers last term, but missed most of the busy Christmas period through injury.
He made over 100 appearances for both Sunderland and Stoke as they secured Premier League status year on year, before spending two seasons with Middlesbrough.
Whitehead signed a two year deal with Huddersfield when he signed last year, however his time may be up, with the New York Stadium his latest destination.
