Rotherham United are set to sign Hamilton Academical utility man Hakeem Odoffin, a report from The Scottish Sun has claimed.

Odoffin joined Hamilton from Livingston back in the summer 0f 2020, and has since gone on to make 42 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring four goals.

Now though, it appears as though Odoffin is set to move south of the border this summer to continue his career in League One next season.

According to this latest update, Rotherham are poised to complete the signing of Odoffin, despite interest from Scottish Premiership duo Motherwell and Hibernian.

It is thought that the Millers have already had two bids rejected for the 23-year-old, but that they are now set to return with a third bid for the former Tottenham youngster.

As things stand, there is a year remaining on Odoffin's contract with Hamilton, who are expected to receive a five-figure fee for the utility man.

Following their relegation from the Championship at the end of last season, Rotherham have made one signing so far this summer, with midfielder Shane Ferguson joining after his departure from Millwall.

The Verdict

This looks like it will be something of a boost for Rotherham.

It has been a rather quiet transfer window for the Millers so far, which given they will surely be targeting a return to the Championship next season, will be something of a concern.

The signing of Odoffin therefore, ought to be something of a boost to help them get moving in the market, with a player who can give them an option in a number of positions.

Indeed, the fact they have beaten two Scottish Premiership sides to this deal also means it looks to be something of a coup, so this is certainly a positive piece of news from a Millers perspective.
