Blackpool FC centre-back Curtis Tilt is set to make a deadline day move to League One rivals Rotherham, according to the Blackpool Gazette.

The Tangerines have been very active in terms of bringing players in with Simon Grayson making eight signings this month, along with letting go of eight players too. Blackpool have brought in two defenders this month in Jordan Thorniley and Marc Bola and this has opened the door for Curtis Tilt to make his way out of Bloomfield Road.

Tilt has been an important part of Blackpool’s season, but their recent performances have seen their chances of an unlikely push for the play-offs dashed as they have lost five of their last six league games.

Matt Scrafton of the Blackpool Gazette has now reported that even though Tilt has been present at Bloomfield Road this morning, there are strong indications that his prospective move to Rotherham United is looking more and more likely.

Links of the Millers’ pursuit of Tilt stem back to the summer as Paul Warne looked to bolster his squad ahead of an immediate push for promotion back to the Championship after being relegated last campaign.

However, Paul Warne appears to have got his man as he looks set to make a deadline day move to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The verdict

Curtis Tilt will surely be eager to make the move to the League One leaders and potentially ply his trade in the Championship next season as the Millers look on course to clinch automatic promotion.

It is flattering for a player to have such keen interest from a club that even stems across two different transfer windows, with Rotherham trying their best in the summer to tempt him to the club.

Blackpool need a boost at the moment and losing a key defender is not the way to do that, however, Grayson has been very busy this month and could have another signing up his sleeve.

The Tangerine’s defence has been okay recently, in spite of these recent defeats, but now they have a task on their hands to plug the gap left by Tilt.
