Rotherham United boss Neil Warnock has revealed that he was a “nutter” for agreeing to take on the job at the club.
Warnock took on the challenge at The New York Stadium in February to keep the Millers in the Championship after Neil Redfearn was sacked.
The drop to the Championship looked highly likely as they were struggling for form and were cemented deep into the bottom three.
However, the 67-year-old has achieved the almost impossible and has guided them to a 10-point cushion from the relegation zone.
Speaking to the South Yorkshire Times, Warnock said: “A few friends told me I was mad and to go and get a part in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
He added:”I’m the man who once turned down Chelsea to stay at Notts County. I am a nutter, aren’t I?”
The Millers have picked up 24 points in his 16 game’s in charge of the revived side and are unbeaten in their last 11 Championship affairs.
Rotherham picked up a credible 0-0 draw against Wolves at the weekend that has ensured their safety.
