Rotherham United in talks with former Nottingham Forest frontman

Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart confirmed during a live interview with Radio Sheffield that Dexter Blackstock is one of many free agents that the Millers are currently in talks with, according to journalist Jonathan Buchan.

On Thursday the 1st September it was confirmed by the club that the striker had agreed to the mutual termination of his contract, in order for him to find a new club and it now appears that Rotherham are the front runners to sign the 30-year-old.

Rotherham United haven’t had the best of starts to this season’s Sky Bet Championship, and currently find themselves in the relegation places after suffering a crushing 4-0 defeat at the hands of South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at the weekend.

The failure to secure a deal for a striker throughout the transfer window has left them desperate to secure a free agent frontman and Blackstock is top of the list.

The Antigua and Barbuda international is a highly experienced forward who has represented the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Southampton and Derby County.

What do you think Millers fans? Would Blackstock be a good addition to your squad? Is he the frontman you have been searching for? Let us know your thoughts below!
