Sunderland will be looking to get themselves a big three points tomorrow night as they take on Accrington Stanley in Sky Bet League One.

The Black Cats are still well placed to make the top two this season but they've got to stop drawing so many games at this point in the campaign.

Tomorrow night provides the latest chance for them to do that and put the pressure on the likes of Barnsley and Luton, then, but only if they get the three points.

They will have to do it without Duncan Watmore, though, with Jack Ross providing an update about the attacker that suggests he needs a rest:

Watmore, of course, has had no luck with injuries of late and with him just getting back into playing it is clear that he needs to be managed.

The Verdict

This makes sense from Ross because the winger needs to be brought back gradually, rather than exhausted.

He's shown flashes of his old self since returning to the side, but is still lacking that extra sharpness and better final ball at times, so a rest might be ideal for him.

Sunderland, meanwhile, will hope that they can get by without him.
