It’s been a difficult international break for Leeds United, who have lost a number of key players to injury ahead of their clash with Millwall at the weekend.

Leeds made an announcement on Thursday night, with the club offering a detailed look at their absentees and how long they were expected to be on the sidelines for.

It didn’t make good reading for supporters, with another key run of fixtures on the horizon for Marcelo Bielsa, who is looking to establish his side in the promotion race ahead of October’s international break.

The side he fields at Millwall will be missing some key players, most notably in attack, with Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe both missing.

Despite a limited number of forwards, it is unlikely we will see Bielsa move away from his 4-1-4-1 system too much at Millwall.

However, we take a look at THREE different ways he could set up that formation at the New Den…

With Bamford and Roofe out, the obvious player to step in is Tyler Roberts.

Roberts is a natural striker and featured as the focal point of attack for Wales during the international break.

It would be the 19-year-old’s first Championship start for Leeds and there would be huge pressure on him to perform.

Bielsa won’t be afraid of throwing Roberts in though.

Alternatively, Bielsa could push Samu Saiz further up the field and play him in a ‘false 9’ role.

The Spaniard is a clever player, who could be able to adapt higher up the field.

Of course, Leeds wouldn’t be able to play long to Saiz, but if they keep their play on the floor, this could work.

It would allow Lewis Baker to come into the midfield alongside Mateusz Klich and give Leeds more energy.

Ryan Edmondson is another option Bielsa could turn to.

The 17-year-old has featured only once in the Championship for Leeds, but he’s been involved with the first-team over the course of pre-season.

Leeds will be facing a physical Millwall side, and if they want to go toe-to-toe with the Lions, playing Edmondson could work.

The powerful forward is inexperienced, but he would be a real handful for Millwall’s defence.

He has an eye for goal too, which always helps.
