Romoney Crichlow sought out another loan move this summer and found himself at Swindon Town - and so far, the short-term deal has worked wonders for him.

The youngster may have struggled to break into the Huddersfield starting eleven on a regular basis, so instead has been sent out to Swindon Town in League Two to get some frequent minutes.

Given the chance, he has so far taken it with both hands. With 13 games under his belt so far - not to mention a goal and an assist - he has already become a key player for his new side and has shone in a team that has found itself battling for a promotion place in the fourth tier.

He's been a rock at the back and has helped marshal and lead his line well thus far.

He put in a tremendous showing last time out against Sutton United and was arguably one of the best players on the pitch and before that, he even bagged a clean sheet against Forest Green, despite the fact they too are right up towards the top of the table.

Despite his age, he has been unfazed by the step up in minutes and football. Before this, his loan spells had come with the likes of Hartlepool and Welling United, so there has been a bit of a jump up to this level but Crichlow has excelled so far.

If he continues to impress, then there is no doubt that he could find himself in the Huddersfield setup when he returns to the club.

He's only young and there is a lot of room for him to grow and he will no doubt make some mistakes along the way - that comes with the process though and if he can iron those out now with Swindon and help work towards achieving his potential, then he could definitely be an important player for the Terriers in the future.

Crichlow will though first have to focus on the task in hand at Swindon. If he can help them achieve a promotion though - and be a first-team regular along the way - then that is a big step in the right direction.

Perhaps a move to a League One side to see how he could handle that step up in football might be a better move before being thrown back into the Huddersfield team but if he really does continue to show he means business for Swindon, then he might find himself back in the Terriers starting eleven even sooner than that.
