Romaine Sawyers shares message with Stoke City supporters as he reflects on loan spell

Stoke City midfielder Romaine Sawyers has taken to Instagram to share a message with Stoke City supporters ahead of his departure from the club.
The midfielder is set to return to West Bromwich Albion when his loan spell at the bet365 Stadium reaches a conclusion at the end of May.
Signed by the Potters last year, Sawyers managed to produce some promising performances for the club in the second-tier.
During the 25 games that he played at this level, the 30-year-old scored two goals for Stoke while he also provided three assists for his team-mates.
Sawyers’ long-term future is unclear as his current deal at The Hawthorns is set to expire next month.
West Brom do have the option to extend the midfielder’s stay for another 12 months.
It is understood that this clause will need to be triggered by the Baggies this month.
Reflecting on his spell at Stoke on Instagram, Sawyers has admitted that he was grateful to represent the club in the previous term.

The Verdict
Sawyers managed to demonstrate last season that he is still capable of delivering the goods in the Championship and thus it wouldn’t be at all surprising if West Brom give him another chance to prove his worth at The Hawthorns in the 2022/23 campaign.
The midfielder registered an impressive pass success rate of 85% at this level and recorded a respectable average SofaScore match rating of 6.72.
If West Brom opt to part ways with Sawyers, it will be intriguing to see whether Stoke decide to try and re-sign him this summer.
Blessed with a wealth of Championship experience, the midfielder could prove to be a valuable asset for Stoke if they do indeed seal a permanent deal for him in the upcoming window.
