Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to finally offload defender Roger Johnson before tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline, reports the Express and Star.
Johnson has been linked with a move to Belgium club Gent.
The 31-year-old has been frozen out at Wolves since Kenny Jackett became manager in June 2013 and was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United last season.
The club has been trying to offload the former Birmingham City defender since he returned to Molineux in May.
Jackett has managed to get outcasts Stephen Ward, Jamie O’Hara and Tongo Doumbia off the wage bill in recent weeks but there is still no news on Kevin Doyle and Kevin Foley.
Meanwhile Jackett is still keen on Leicester City striker Chris Wood but has had to admit defeat to his chase for FC Tours forward Andy Delort.
