Rochdale midfielder Peter Vincenti has been named as the League One Player of the Month after a superb month in Keith Hill’s side.
Vincenti has been influential in the Dale’s midfield and scored in four of his sides five league games last month.
The 29-year old admitted to the Football League site that he was happy to just be nominated for the award but spoke of his delight at actually collecting the award.
“It’s the first time I’ve been nominated for this award so I’m delighted to have won it.
“I’ve seen players win it before and I’ve always thought to myself that I would love to be nominated, so I’m really pleased.”
While the midfielder was pleased to win the award, he was keen to stress the role of his team mates in his recognition.
“Obviously one player has to be nominated but, for me, it shows what we’re achieving as a team.
Vincenti recently signed a new deal with the club and he will be hoping that the club can build on their strong start to the season and get promoted to the Championship.
They currently sit sixth in League One and are one of the early pace-setters in the division, and they’ll be hoping to continue their good form when they face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, after the international break.
