The Sunday Express reports that Rochdale and newly relegated Bristol Rovers have benefitted from Rickie Lamberts’ £4.5 million sale to Liverpool.
Two of Lamberts’ former clubs have reaped comeback from sell-on clauses inserted when he moved onto other clubs.
Rochdale have benefited to the tune of around £100,000 from his 2006 transfer to Rovers.
Whilst the newly relegated Conference Premier side have picked up £500,000 as part of a sell-on clause inserted when he was purchased by Southampton, who were then Football League side in 2009.
The England international Lambert has continued to show he can score goals at all levels including finding the net three times since his 2013 debut, scoring a header against Scotland , this helped England go on to win 3-2.
