West Bromwich Albion face Preston North End at the Hawthorns tonight, as the race for promotion hots up in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Baggies still lead the way in the Championship, sitting nine points clear of third place after an impressive 3-0 win at Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

Slaven Bilic's side will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table tonight, as they prepare to come up against a real top-six contender in North End.

Alex Neil's side sit three points clear of seventh place and occupy the final play-off spot, after coming from behind to defeat Hull City at Deepdale at the week.

Can you get full marks on this West Brom quiz?

Albion have won only one of their last six games at the Hawthorns, so they will have to rely on their standout players to make a difference tonight.

Both sides are clearly very impressive and are both gunning for promotion to the Premier League. If you combined the two sides, then what would be the final outcome?

Here, we take a look...

Given that both sides tend to deploy a similar formation, we've gone with a 4-2-3-1 system for this one.

Starting off in goal, Sam Johnstone has pulled off some excellent saves for West Brom this season, and he just gets in ahead of Sam Johnstone for this one.

Dara O'Shea has been excellent since being introduced to the side by Bilic.

The Irishman is a natural centre-half, but he has been outstanding since moving into the right-back position.

Semi Ajayi has proved to be an absolute bargain for West Brom since joining from Rotherham United, and he deserves his place in this team.

He is a solid defender who can is more than comfortable at operating slightly further forward, which makes him stand out above the rest.

The first North End player to be included in this team is Davies.

The left-sided centre-half is such a key player for Neil's side, and it's no surprise to see him being linked with top-flight sides this term.

Completing the back-line is another Albion player in Conor Townsend.

Townsend has really come up leaps and bounds under Bilic and offers real balance down the left-hand side. He gets in ahead of Andrew Hughes and Darnell Furlong here.

Moving into midfield, as this is where both teams possess real quality, especially in the final third.

Ben Pearson is a player who divides opinions due to his reckless playing style in midfield, but there's no denying that he has real quality on the ball and gives his all.

Partnering Pearson is Romaine Sawyers, who has been superb since joining from Brentford in the summer,

The attacking midfielder has thrived sitting slightly deeper alongside Jake Livermore, as it allows him to make things tick and orchestrate the midfield

Even North End fans would struggle to disagree with this one.

Pereira has arguably been the player of the season in the Championship this season, registering more assists than anyone else in the league.

He has been the pick of the bunch this term.

Alan Browne has been a key player for North End especially over the past couple of seasons.

He reached double figures in goals last season and has popped up with some really important goals this term. He offers real endeavour in the middle of the park and is a class act.

North End fans know all about Robinson, and the winger has been excellent since joining the Baggies on loan.

Robinson scored 13 times for Preston last season despite being injured for a majority of the campaign, and has scored twice already for West Brom since signing from Sheffield United on loan.

This is a tough decision, with Charlie Austin failing to perform for the Baggies, and Hal Robson-Kanu in and out of form.

Tom Barkhuizen is an interesting player - he isn't an out-and-out forward, but he has played up top this season and is more than capable of playing in this fluid front-line.

He has 11 goals to his name this season and is a very exciting forward.
