David Prutton is expecting Bristol City to return to winning ways this weekend when they face Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship, reports Sky Sports.
Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton is expecting Lee Johnson’s side to put their promotion push back on track this weekend, recording a 1-0 victory over QPR at Ashton Gate.
Johnson’s men are without a victory in their last seven fixtures across all competitions, with the Robins’ last taste of success coming way back on Boxing Day, when they were 2-0 winners against Reading at Ashton Gate.
Since then, Bristol City have crashed out of the both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, whilst also slipping to fifth in the Championship table, having picked up just one point from a possible 12.
The Robins are on an extremely poor run of form, but entertain QPR after a spirited performance against Manchester City in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final.
Like Bristol, QPR have crashed out of the FA Cup, but Ian Holloway’s side have shown improved form in the Championship over recent weeks – winning two of their last three to move eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Bristol City are on a poor run of form, but are still playing well, with Tuesday night’s performance against Man City pulling plenty of praise from the likes of Pep Guardiola.
However, QPR will offer the Robins a different type of test, and one they must be up for.
If Johnson’s side can play anything like they did against Manchester City, they will be hard to stop this weekend.
