The left-back was a consistent performer for Albion in the Premier League, and he has been an ever-present under Valerien Ismael so far this season as the Baggies push for an immediate return to the top-flight.
Therefore, his importance to the team is clear and his fine performances were rewarded with a new contract, which the club announced last night.
Unsurprisingly, that got a very positive response from the fans, whilst Snodgrass echoed that, as he sent a message of his own to the player on Twitter after the update was shared.
“Things you love to see, congrats.”
The Scotsman has had a run in the team himself, starting four successive games leading up to the international break after Alex Mowatt was ruled out through injury.
With the ex-Barnsley man pushing for a return, it remains to be seen if he keeps his place in the XI for the trip to Huddersfield this weekend, although Townsend is sure to start once again.
Do Wolves and West Brom have these 10 things in common?
This shows that Townsend is a popular figure in the dressing room and Snodgrass, like all of the fans, is pleased for the left-back, who definitely deserves the new deal.
He was a positive for Albion in an otherwise forgettable Premier League campaign, whilst he has carried that form, and shown his versatility, this season.
Now, all the players will be focused on trying to close the gap to the top two as they seek to get back to winning ways this weekend.
