Luke Freeman is a man in demand after a number of impressive performances for QPR this season, and a fellow Championship rival look set to reignite their interest in signing the creative midfielder.

Boro are considering making another approach for him when the transfer window reopens in January, London Football News understands.

Freeman has 18 months left on his current deal at Loftus Road and Steve McClaren will be keen for his midfield talisman to sign a new deal with the club in the near future.

However, he previously admitted that he would struggle not to take notice of a potential move to a better positioned Championship club if a bid was made.

"I'd be lying if I said my head wasn’t turned, because to some extent it was," he said in an interview with West London Sport.

"When you’re a player and there’s the possibility of joining a club that might well be in the Premier League next season, of course that’s something you think about."

QPR will be hoping that Freeman can remain focused as Rangers mount their own challenge for a top-six finish this season, despite the interest from high-flying Middlesbrough.

The Verdict

This potential deal doesn't come as a surprise to me, with Freeman a standout player for QPR in the last two seasons.

If QPR are to have any sort of ambition, then they will be doing everything they can to keep hold of Freeman, who could be key to maintaining a play-off push.

They face a nervous wait during the transfer window, with QPR potentially needing to cash-in on the creative midfielder.
