Ritchie Humphreys has admitted it will feel strange on his return to Victoria Park.
The Chesterfield midfielder played 488 league games for Pools between 2001 and 2013 before making the summer switch to The Spireites.
“It will be strange because I will probably want to stop and chat to people on my way through as I would have done for years and years.
“Going into the opposite changing room and warming up on the opposite side of the pitch, it will all be slightly weird to the norm as it was for 12 years,” Humphreys told Hartlepool’s official programme.
It is big game for Chesterfield as they look to pull away from 4th-placed Fleetwood in the Sky Bet League 2 table.
Humphreys said: “It is a very important match for both football clubs and that is why everyone’s professionalism will kick in.”
