Swansea City have announced that England U17 World Cup winning coach Steve Cooper has succeeded Graham Potter as their new Head Coach.

The 39-year-old has no first-team experience, however he is extremely well regarded for the work he has done in youth football over the years.

Having previously worked at Liverpool, Cooper is credited with developing several top players, including Raheem Sterling, which saw him land a key role at the FA. He then took the U17 side to World Cup glory in India after a 5-2 win over Spain in the final two years ago.

Despite that, it's still a bold move from the Swans, although chairman Trevor Birch believes Cooper's background in youth football and his desire to implement a fast, attacking style will suit the club.

And, it's fair to say the fans are excited about what the future holds under their new boss, although most were just relieved a decision had been made, with former Liverpool coach Mike Marsh also confirmed as his assistant.

Here's some of the reaction to Cooper's appointment on Twitter...
