Plenty of Lincoln City fans have taken to social media to react to a club statement, confirming that the club have not been approached by any other club to speak to manager Danny Cowley.

The statement praised Cowley and the entire management team at Sincil Bank for what they have been able to achieve with the club over the past three seasons, stating that it is understandable if they attract attention from clubs at a higher level.

It went on to confirm that the club have received no official approach from any club to speak to Cowley, contradicting recent reports.

The statement comes after Cowley had been linked with the managerial vacancies at Championship clubs West Brom and Middlesbrough this week.

It was reported earlier this week that West Brom, who are still looking for a permanent manager after head coach Darren Moore was sacked in March, had held talks with the Lincoln boss over a possible move to the Hawthorns.

Cowley and his brother and assistant manager Nicky were able to help guide Lincoln from the National League to League One in three seasons and helped the club win the League Two title this season.

Middlesbrough are looking for a new manager after parting company with Tony Pulis last week, with Cowley thought to be under consideration for the role at the Riverside Stadium.
