Ipswich Town have re-signed 24-year-old midfielder Bersant Celina on a season-long loan deal from French side Dijon, the English side have confirmed this morning.
The Tractor Boys have been in rebuild mode this summer, demolishing the majority of their first-team squad this season and bringing in a stunning total of 18 players over the past few months.
As part of this rebuild, they have already brought in another advanced midfielder in Scott Fraser to Portman Road from Milton Keynes Dons to provide an adequate amount of depth in the middle of the park – but have now added Celina to compete with the 26-year-old, who has competed in all five league games of the 2021/22 season so far.
Quiz: Have Ipswich Town won or lost more against each of these 25 English teams?
Paul Cook’s side have endured a miserable start to the campaign, failing to win any of these opening five League One games and not managing to keep a single clean sheet in any of their six competitive matches.
Celina might not be able to help out too much defensively, but he will be able to provide an added amount of attacking firepower to a squad that has already signed the likes of Sone Aluko, Kyle Edwards, Conor Chaplin and Joe Pigott in recent months.
The 24-year-old spent the last campaign in the French top division, making a respectable 32 league appearances and recording six assists but failing to save Dijon from relegation.
He is fondly remembered for his loan spell at Ipswich during the 2017/18 season though, scoring seven times in 35 Championship displays and proving to be a real handful in the second tier.
With this latest signing confirmed, we take a look at how some Ipswich Town fans reacted to the Kosovan’s return.

Wow this really has been a summer transfer window that will never be repeated incredible work by Mark Ashton. So if Edwards continues to be triple marked, Celina also triple marked, which #itfc players will the opposition 4 outfield players be marking? https://t.co/RjsUuMUdRX

#itfc No one would be surprised if we were looking to build an EFL Championship side with the players we are acquiring! Good luck to Paul Cook and players getting out of L1 this season! https://t.co/zGhsCatDwj

Can’t get my head around the fact we’ve pulled this off. https://t.co/ugrT3RzD2c

Would probably be saying that even if we were in the Championship. But in League one this is just ridiculous.
